Electric Baseboard Heater

A Plinth Heater, also known as an electric baseboard heater, is one of the most popular heating systems for both homes and workplaces. We decided it would be useful to provide you with a list of some electric baseboard features.

  • Excellent Air flow – Hydronic Baseboard heaters get cool air by using the lower part of the heater and blasting heated air from the top of it. To allow the necessary airflow by the heating system, these heaters were made to be just half an inch above the floor. Therefore, you should ensure there are no obstructions to the heater.
  • The Heating Component – In order to let out heated air in the room, the interior of these heaters are made of a heating component that is associated with metallic fins that warm the air that surrounds them. Over a period of time, the fans will be clogged and covered with debris and dust due to the constant flow of air. The heating efficiency can be negatively affected if the metallic fins become bent or otherwise damaged.
  • Areas that are Not Often Used – Having control over the heat on a room by room basis is one of the main positives  of using electric baseboard heaters. Although many people turn off heaters and isolate rooms in an attempt to cut costs, it is not recommended that you do this, as the pipes that are within partitions will freeze or cold air will seep into other rooms of the house and cause the heater to work harder. To increase the efficiency of the heating in lesser used rooms we suggest reducing the heat to 50 degrees.
  • Thermostats – While most electric board heaters have thermostats, they are not always necessary as they are very good at maintaining the heat.
  • Insulation – Homes that are heated by these electric heaters need to have sufficient insulation. The reasoning behind this is simple, in that much of the heat can and will be lost if the house is not insulated in the right way.

Electric baseboard heaters are the perfect heaters for small homes or a single room. In order to ensure that you get the best of your heater, carefully follow the guidelines.
